Thermostaticaly controlled to turn on when the water temperature approaches freezing and will turn off according to the internal thermostate shut off temperature. Unit measures 6 1/2" across and about 3" tall. The cord is 5 1/2 feet long with 5 feet of it wraped with coil for safety.
