It works along with other amino acids to convert ammonia into urea. High ammonia levels are extremely toxic and can cause liver damage and neurological impairment.

• L-Citrulline is perhaps even more important for cardiovascular health. It converts in the body to L-arginine and then nitric oxide. Suggested Use:
Take 1 to 3 capsules 3 times a day or as needed. For cardiovascular support take along with arginine at a ratio of 3 arginine to 1 citrulline. For cardiovascular support for those with active herpes, or similar viruses, reverse the ratio to 3 citrulline to 1 arginine. Take with water or fruit juice, NOT with milk or dairy products.
