Product Summary:

Bite Not Pet Collar

BiteNot Collars are an excellent alternative to the traditional Elizabethan collar. It provides unimpeded peripheral vision and allows your pet to eat, drink, sleep, and play while protecting the back, rump, base of tail, flanks, chest, abdomen, and genitals (even feet in small breeds). These collars are not recommended for protecting eyes or ears.

These collars are made of flexible plastic and foam and are machine-washable helping you easily keep it clean. They are the only cervical restraint with a harness strap, and that means these collars stay on. When choosing size, remember that the collar must stretch from behind the animal's ear to the top of its shoulder for maximum protection.

Great off market use
Excellent. My small dog was attacked by a German Shepherd and suffered some cervical fractures. The neurologist suggested this to protect his neck and keep it from too much movement. We are in week 2 and do far it’s been a lifesaver.

great product
my schnauzer puppy needed a collar that would fit through the dog door after surgery. he happily let me put it on him and seemed very comfortable. not depressed as with a cone collar. every vet should have these as well as the cones

well worth the overnight shipping cost
My 21 lb Shiba Inu decided to make mincemeat out of her tail over the weekend, which brought us to the vet and me to the conclusion that there was no way, short of a 24 hour waking vigil, that I could keep her from making the injury worse. I tried the traditional hard e-collar--she flailed around, bucked and fought it, and then escaped from it in about 30 minutes. In the process she wacked her tail with the edge of the cone and reopened her own wound. Nothing I tried worked so, out of complete exhaustion and frustration, I ordered the Bite Not with overnight shipping. Not only did it arrive on time, but it works and it saved her tail and my sanity. One caution, you have to make sure that you apply the collar sung enough, otherwise your dog will have enough wiggle room to reach his/her lower quarters.
While I can't say she loves this, she hates it a lot less than the e-collar and can wear it without panicing. She also is able to sleep comfortably in it. Thanks PetSupplies and Bite Not--you saved my sanity.

awesome!
this is the best tool to keep dogs from reaching the site of injury. It is so much better then the plastic lamp shade devise, or anything else. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great Alternative to a Cone Collar
Love it. But not for every injury. Easy to use. Dogs are not as uncomfortable as they are with a cone collar!

Disappointed
I was disappointed with the BiteNot collar. My lab mix was having such a fit with the e-Collar that I paid for overnight shipping to get the BiteNot collar quickly. But my dog was still able to get to the incision on his knee with the BiteNot collar. It might be good for not getting to another part of the body, but it did not work for his knee.

No more cones!
This is the answer to all of the problems created by the hated cone. This is saving me and my dog from two nervous breakdowns. All veterinarians should offer this to their patients.

Best e-collar ever!
This is the most humane collar ever! Why you don't see it more is beyond me. Well made - it lasts! Helps you protect your pet.

finally healed
I desperately wanted something to keep my dog from licking and scratching awful hotspots on the side of his neck and on all of his feet. After months of trying every kind of product I happened across this and he can NOT get to those areas that were so badly affected. in just a week i cannot believe the improvement. Everyone should have one of these in their first aid supply for their dogs it is worth every penny i spent.

bitenot collar not good for labs having surgery on
We bought the BiteNot collar because our lab had a surgery on his foot a few months ago and got to his stitches 3 times with the ecollar(he actually had to wear 2 together because he kept getting to his foot). He had another surgery on his foot and we were super excited to try this collar. Doesn't work very well for keeping labs from getting to their feet. I think it deters him but if he wants at it he will definately get it. Don't recommend this product for labs getting surgery on legs or feet.
