Damon S on Oct 29, 2018
Rescue dogs come in and we often have no history on them. We do not believe in over vaccination but feel the need to make sure they are covered for the basic core vaccines before they go to their furever homes. Rescuing over 300 pups a year runs into a lot of money and vaccines are on of the things we can do ourselves to save money. This product is great quality and easy to use. Thanks KV :)

Is this the same as the 5 in 1 shot and does it cover everything a puppy needs for his first shots?
A shopper on Mar 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is the same, however it’s only the first in a series you also need to do 6 way at 12 weeks, and 9 way at 16 weeks.. 10 way at 18 weeks. then rabies and kennel cough if you want... they can be refrigerated for a year so order them all at once and set a reminder.. the dogs can still be susceptible to parvo until after their third shot cycle so still be careful about exposure after giving the first shot
does the shots come pack in ice,i used to breed and know that they nee to be kept cold?
melody l on Feb 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I ordered 10 single units and they came with one ice pack on top and the other on the bottom in a styrofoam container.
do these vaccines also come with proof of vaccination so that we can provide if traveling?
maddie h on Apr 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, but I keep the packaging in a travel bag so if I’m asked I have proof of their shots. As a Breeder, I give the package to the buyer to give to the new vet. I’ve never had any issues.
Is this the parvo vaccine?
Chaka on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes parvo is in this vaccine along with distemper adenovirus type 2 parainfluenza, it had all the same things in it as the first vaccine that the breeder had given my puppy. So I chose this one . I hope this helps!
Is this okay for large adult dogs?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have used a single dose on dogs from 6 pounds to 70 pounds without any problems. Of course it depends on YOUR dog, his/her general health, his/her immune system etc. etc. If you have any doubt, it is always best to go to a full service vet in case your dog has a reaction.
Does the vaccines include syringe with needles?
A shopper on Sep 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This includes one syringe with needle.
So I got a puppy who is 5 weeks old from my neighbor, and he told me he gave him this shot. Should I continue with this shot? Or wait till he’s a bit older?
A shopper on Mar 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If this is what he started with I would continue with this product. If you go online they have a puppy vaccination schedule. I gave this to my St. Bernard and Black Lab mix Harlie and she had no problems at all with side effect. I gave it to her subcutaneously. I got her she when she was 6 weeks old and just gave her her last shot until she's a year old. I ordered 5 and have one left to do that in 8 months when she reached a year. Make sure you keep them in the fridge tho! They need to stay cold, not frozen! Hope this helps you!! Good luck and many blessings!

Actually protect for what disease?
A shopper on Feb 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Taken from the information section:
Durvet Canine Spectra 5 is a combination of immunogenic, attenuated strains of Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Canine Parainfluenza, and Canine Parvovirus Type 2b, propagated in cell line tissue cultures. The CAV-2 fraction cross-protects against respiratory infection caused by infectious canine hepatitis (CAV-1).
•For the vaccination of healthy, susceptible dogs and puppies as an aid in the reduction of diseases caused by canine distemper, canine adenovirus types 1 and 2, parainfluenza, and parvovirus
•Contains type 2b parvovirus for rapid immunity and cross protection against all recognized field strains
•High titer, low passage parvo fraction
•High vaccine titers have been shown to overcome low-level maternal antibody interference in puppies
•Meets or exceeds all USDA Standards
I have Shih Tzu puppies. Where do you insert the needle into the puppy?
A shopper on Jan 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: On the back of the neck. Pull up the loose skin “scruff” where the mom dog would pick them up by. Use two fingers to pull up the skin then Administer The shot in the loose skin. You will feel a little pop that’s just the needle breaking through the skin due to it being tough. After you inject the shot massage the puppies neck for about 30 seconds. You will feel a little swelling on their necks. Hope this helped.
Do new puppy shots have to be administered by vet?
A shopper on Nov 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, this and all of shots except rabies (in most states) can be given by the owner. If you have never given any shots before to any animal or any human, then you might be hesitant to push the needle in. Have your vet show you the first time and then on you can give your self. Puppies need 4 shots starting at around 5 or 6 weeks and given 3 weeks apart. Your vet will have to give the rabies shot when time.

Tammy j on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Is this the first of tge dogs booster shots? Rabies can only b done at the vet. The shot u are showing is the first booster shot
When you say administer in shots of 3, what do you mean by that? Do I give the puppy 3 of these at a time? Or every 3 weeks?
Andrea A on Mar 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Puppies have natural immunity from mom until around 5-6 weeks. Starting puppy shots at 6 weeks allows for cross over of protection. Continue to give 4 shots total, spaced out every 2-3 weeks. If around other dogs, such as in house/home, and the other dogs are current on vaccinations then 4 shots is sufficient. Depending on area you live in, Lepto might also be needed.

How to do shot?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2018
