This is exactly what I needed for my puppy, and since I can administer shots myself I know she'll be more comfortable. This will make our vet visits shorter, so she does not have to be around sick or unfriendly animals more than necessary, and she'll have more time for her exams rather than worrying about administering shots while we're there!

Is this the same as the 5 in 1 shot and does it cover everything a puppy needs for his first shots?
A shopper on Mar 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is the same, however it’s only the first in a series you also need to do 6 way at 12 weeks, and 9 way at 16 weeks.. 10 way at 18 weeks. then rabies and kennel cough if you want... they can be refrigerated for a year so order them all at once and set a reminder.. the dogs can still be susceptible to parvo until after their third shot cycle so still be careful about exposure after giving the first shot
do these vaccines also come with proof of vaccination so that we can provide if traveling?
maddie h on Apr 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There are stickers on the vials with lot number, expiration etc. You can find a vaccine record printable online.
Is this the parvo vaccine?
Chaka on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes parvo is in this vaccine along with distemper adenovirus type 2 parainfluenza, it had all the same things in it as the first vaccine that the breeder had given my puppy. So I chose this one . I hope this helps!
Does the vaccines include syringe with needles?
A shopper on Sep 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This includes one syringe with needle.
So I got a puppy who is 5 weeks old from my neighbor, and he told me he gave him this shot. Should I continue with this shot? Or wait till he’s a bit older?
A shopper on Mar 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If this is what he started with I would continue with this product. If you go online they have a puppy vaccination schedule. I gave this to my St. Bernard and Black Lab mix Harlie and she had no problems at all with side effect. I gave it to her subcutaneously. I got her she when she was 6 weeks old and just gave her her last shot until she's a year old. I ordered 5 and have one left to do that in 8 months when she reached a year. Make sure you keep them in the fridge tho! They need to stay cold, not frozen! Hope this helps you!! Good luck and many blessings!
Is this okay for large adult dogs?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have used a single dose on dogs from 6 pounds to 70 pounds without any problems. Of course it depends on YOUR dog, his/her general health, his/her immune system etc. etc. If you have any doubt, it is always best to go to a full service vet in case your dog has a reaction.
How many weeks does a puppy have to be to get this shot?
Jesse M on Feb 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 8 Wks old requires a series of 3 shots. If you give 9 wks or later a series of 2 shots is needed.

melody l on Feb 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I ordered 10 single units and they came with one ice pack on top and the other on the bottom in a styrofoam container.
Can this be given to adult dogs?
Barb S on Mar 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Has the pet been previously vaccinated? If not, give again in 3 weeks to boost the vaccine. If it is a booster from a year ago, then great! I am not a veterinarian, but used this vaccine for an adult dog's annual vaccine. Let me know if I can help further. Also, please make sure that the dog is otherwise healthy before administering or having a health professional doing so.
Dose the shot expire?
A shopper on Mar 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, each shot has a month/year expiration. It is typically close to a year or more from when it’s purchased. If you intend to buy a series of shots, say the first three doses for a puppy, you should easily be able to order them at the same time and store them in your fridge until it’s time to use.

Actually protect for what disease?

Durvet Canine Spectra 5 is a combination of immunogenic, attenuated strains of Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Canine Parainfluenza, and Canine Parvovirus Type 2b, propagated in cell line tissue cultures. I have Shih Tzu puppies. Where do you insert the needle into the puppy?
A shopper on Jan 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: On the back of the neck. Pull up the loose skin “scruff” where the mom dog would pick them up by. Use two fingers to pull up the skin then Administer The shot in the loose skin. You will feel a little pop that’s just the needle breaking through the skin due to it being tough. After you inject the shot massage the puppies neck for about 30 seconds. You will feel a little swelling on their necks. Hope this helped.
Can I buy this in advance and store in in fridge for 6 weeks?
Linaayla on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Each shot will have an expiration date, but it’s typically close to a year or more out from time of purchase. You can definitely store these in the fridge for six weeks (or more) without any problem.
Do new puppy shots have to be administered by vet?
A shopper on Nov 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, these shots do not need to be administered by a vet. They come with everything needed to do it yourself. There is some necessary knowledge about where and how to give the shot, but if you’re comfortable, they are definitely DIY. My husband and I have given all the first and second round shots ourselves to at least six liters of pups. Just takes a few minutes. Be sure to read the instructions for prep.
Is this a good shot for 8 week old puppies?
Stormysky on May 28, 2018

When you say administer in shots of 3, what do you mean by that? Do I give the puppy 3 of these at a time? Or every 3 weeks?
Andrea A on Mar 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Puppies have natural immunity from mom until around 5-6 weeks. Starting puppy shots at 6 weeks allows for cross over of protection. Continue to give 4 shots total, spaced out every 2-3 weeks. If around other dogs, such as in house/home, and the other dogs are current on vaccinations then 4 shots is sufficient. Depending on area you live in, Lepto might also be needed.
