Magnesium 5,000™ by Med-Vet Pharamceuticals is recommended to help support normal muscle function and support glucose metabolism. Magnesium helps to maintain normal muscle and nerve function, a healthy heart, healthy immune system and strong bones. Magnesium aids to regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Since a symptom of magnesium deficiency is agitations or anxiety, it is included in many calming supplements.Magnesium plays many roles in the horse’s body. It is involved in the formation of bone and protein synthesis, helps to maintain electrolyte balance, influences nervous system regulation and is a co-factor for a number of enzymes. Low magnesium levels or deficiency can contribute to nervousness, depression, abnormal behavior, muscle tremors, lack of coordination, respiratory probl ems, growth failure and more. Magnesium supplementation may lessen abnormal fat deposits such as cresty neck which could lead to improvements in metabolic health.

Alfalfa meal, soybean hulls, magnesium oxide, wheat middlings, rice hulls, corn distillers dried grains with solubles, stabilized rice bran, magnesium amino acid complex, vegetable oil, lignin sulfonate, natural and artificial flavors.
MAGNESIUM 5,000™ is low in carbs/sugars and can be fed to all classes of horses when levels in total ration may be deficient. Consider total magnesium content in total ration prior to supplementing.
Feeding Directions:

Adult Horses (900-1,100 lbs):
Maintenance: Provide 2 oz daily.
