This medication does not have an FDA approved indication for use in animals,  but it is a  common and acceptable practice for veterinarians to prescribe this human medication for use in animals. Inform your veterinarian prior to use of this medication if your pet is using other eye drops or eye medications or is currently taking an oral steroid medication. Avoid using this product in cats with conjunctivitis, as it may likely be a viral infection. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
Side effects:
Possible side effects may include burning or itching and possible hypersensitivity. Notify your veterinarian if side effects appear and remain troublesome. Other side effects may occur, if you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

What is this used for?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My doctor recommended for me after I had eye surgery, maybe to reduce swelling or prevent infection. My vet prescribed it for my dog to help reduce the cloudiness in her eyes.
What are these drops used for in dogs?
A shopper on Apr 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My dog has a condition where the iris in both eyes looks like it is melting into the whites of the eyes. It does not heal buts it does keep the condition under control.
We have no name for what she has.
Is this prescribed for human eyes?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I've used this product on my senior pug for years in conjunction with OptiImmune to treat his eye issues and it works great. No idea if this can be used on people but I wouldn't.
Is this also used for human eyes ?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. I have not received the shipment from KV (everyone seems out of supply for months/years). However, veternary products are explicitly not for human use.
What is treatment for pannus in my shepherd?
A shopper on Feb 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi there,

This is something you would want to discuss with your Veterinarian.
What is the dosage?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You would need to go through your vet to find out the dosage, as this is a prescription required item.
Does this require a vet to send a prescription to obtain it? Our Vet prescribed it for him before, but he charged $24.50 for it and i don't want to pay that if I can help it.
Thomas A on Sep 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, a veterinary prescription is required.
