Advantage Multi for Cats
Advantage Multi for Cats is a once-a-month topical medication for cats that controls fleas, prevents heartworm infection, and kills intestinal parasites. Cats should be tested for heartworm disease prior to being put on a preventive program and tested annually thereafter. Advantage Multi for Cats is also a once-a-month topical medication for ferrets that prevents heartworm disease, kills adult fleas, and treats flea infestations.

Cautions:
Do not use on sick, debilitated, or underweight cats. The safety of Advantage Multi for Cats has not been established in breeding, pregnant, or lactating cats. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. No interactions have been noted with this medication. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
Side Effects:
Side effects in cats may include lethargy, behavioral changes (agitation, excessive grooming, hiding, pacing, spinning), discomfort (scratching, rubbing, head-shaking), hypersalivation within 1 hour after treatment, or excessive thirst. Side effects in ferrets may include lethargy, chemical odor, or scratching, scabbing, redness, wounds and inflammation at the treatment site. All of these reactions went away on their own without additional treatment.
Usage:
Advantage Multi should be applied as directed by your veterinarian. Wash hands with soap and water after handling the medication.
