Adequan® Canine is recommended for intramuscular injection for the control of signs associated with non-infectious degenerative and/or traumatic arthritis of canine synovial joints.

Adequan Canine Dosage And Administration:
Please consult your veterinarian for adequate dosing and administration.
Adequan Canine Caution:
Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
The active ingredient in Adequan® Canine is polysulfated glycosaminoglycan (PSGAG). GAGs are polysaccharides composed of repeating disaccharide units. The GAG present in PSGAG is principally chondroitin sulfate containing 3 to 4 sulfate esters per disaccharide unit. The molecular weight for PSGAG used in the manufacture of Adequan® is 3,000 to 15,000 daltons. Each mL of Adequan® Canine contains 100 mg of PSGAG, 0.9% v/v benzyl alcohol as a preservative, and water for injection q.s. to 1 mL. Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid added when necessary to adjust pH.

Spry pup
The Adequan arrived safely and my pup is already more sprightly after one shot. I was, however, taken aback by the packaging. On the one hand, it was packed as if the Adequan were a precious egg, which it sort of is, and who can fault that? But the styrofoam and big box it was shipped in seemed a bit much for such a tiny item. That's a small complaint and I am otherwise quite happy with my purchase.

Our dog, a 7 yr old Lab, still thinks he's a 1yr old. We do a lot of hiking and he also competes in obedience. The competition requires jumping. We found he was getting stiff and achey after long hikes and was not doing proper sits in the ring. We did not want to start a regimen of anti inflamatory meds and started him on adequan instead. We have just finished the load up and he is doing much better. When he's better we're all happy!

I used Adequan Equine with my senior horse with great results. It helped him tremendously for the remainder of his life. I am now into my first few months of Adequan Canine for my dog, also with good results. He may never be as he was in his youth, but Adequan is helping him live his best senior life. I know that there is never just one solution for all dogs but I definitely feel it is worth a try!

Fraction of the price compared to the vet! Also KV Supply are the only ones I trust with this medication, as they securely insulate the medicine so it will not get overheated in transit.

How long would this last for an 80lb dog?
Vcr101201 on Apr 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It will depend on what your Vet prescribes for a dose and where you are in the load timeline. There are two 5ML bottles in the box, so a total of 10 ML/10 CC. My dog was prescribed a 1CC dose and the load schedule was 2 times a week for 3 weeks, then once a week for 2 weeks, then every other week for 2 doses, then every third week for 2 doses and now once every 4 weeks. So this 2 vial box (10ML) lasts about 10 months now that we’re on the maintenance dose.

I'm no vet and don't have a regular vet but when I did take my dog to the vet they told me my dog had severe hop dysplasia. Could i still order this with no vet prescription? And how does it go through a vet approval?
Vcr101201 on Apr 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, this item needs a vets approval.

Just as with anything else prices are subject to change, based on many factors. All prescriptions are sold at a cost that is contracted with the Manufacturer.
